An avid computer and computer technology enthusiast, Beverly Davis, began the journey of life on a crisp cold day in February in the small country town of Barnwell, SC. Growing up in a family of modest means, she graduated as class salutatorian. Her journey took her to Atlanta, Ga. to study computers after which she returned home and took a job in a local mill.
The saying “It’s not what you know, but who you know” has special meaning for Beverly. A teacher from her high school days unlocked a door and Beverly was hired as a secretary at the nearby Voorhees College library. Realizing she faced a golden opportunity to better her future, she took advantage of the employee education program. She worked and took classes. It was just the beginning. From there, her journey took her to the Savannah River Site. Again, taking advantage of the employee educational opportunities, she earned a BS Degree in Human Resource Management. Beverly went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Business Administration before leaving the site after almost 30 years.
While at Savannah River, she had a life-changing experience — Toastmasters, and the Distinguished Toastmaster Distinction which catapulted her into many other opportunities to help others. She also became a certified Budget Counselor helping many to take hold of their finances. That journey has now led her into entrepreneurship.
Beverly now enjoys helping the first-time homebuyer as a Realtor and Associate Broker. She also helps individuals build a legacy for their families through her home-based business. Beverly is an author as well. Her book, A Spiritual Walk with God, sold out in the first printing. It is just the beginning of another stop on her life’s journey. Beverly is married to the Rev.
